John Wick Baba Yaga Ch. 4

This is my latest piece: John Wick Baba Yaga Chapter 4. Entirely done in Zbrush after being blocked out in Maya. A big thank you to the extremely talented Hicham Habchi, this was based off his artwork:

I wanted to create something in 3D that felt sketchy, loose, while capturing motion, speed, and expression. I’d seen some really cool stuff being done with a blender’s grease pencil and thought if something similar was possible with Zbrush. Turns out it is but different. I Will release the time lapse video of how this was built in a bit. But if you’re curious how this was made in the meantime you need the following things.
1. Cool Sculpt/Model
2. Shell Geometry of cool sculpt with inverted normals
3. Lots of geo strokes for toon lines
4. Hit Render

All labor. No toon shader was used in the making. If anyone is curious about the zbrush stroke line settings and the render setup, send me a message. Hopefully if this is something enough people want, I will release it along with the process. The process is not new; several shows and artists have done it in the past. I just tied it together in a different cooler way. And now….

Dear Mr. Reeves,
I noticed that a John Wick animated movie/series was missing from the expansion of your franchise. I think it would be a great project for you, lets make it happen ;)

Sincerely,
Emmanuel Marenco
